GET INVOLVED
Three shows. One season. This is how you become part of it.
split/decision makes theater that doesn't wait for permission. We are a New York-based producing company led by Rachel Shuey, Manuel Ortiz, and Viktorija Mickute — three producers with decades of combined experience across theater, film, and international festivals.
In 2026-27, we're producing three original works in New York City — World Premieres of Safe House, Memory Machine, and Novios, three original works by Francisco Arcila, L.B. Browne, and Arturo Luíz Soria. These are the kinds of stories that don't get made without people who decide to make them happen.
That's where you come in.
SAFE HOUSE (World Premiere · The Tank · Sep 2–12 A family drama set in the days before a U.S. presidential election. A father builds a doomsday bunker to protect his family — and locks his pregnant daughter inside. A play about fear, control, and who pays the price when love turns authoritarian. Written by L.B. Browne
THE 2026 SLATE
MEMORY MACHINE (World Premiere · The Tank · Sep 27–Oct 10) A one-man show by Francisco Arcila, directed by Manuel Ortiz. A Colombian American playwright uses a speculative sci-fi device to revisit the unsolved murder of his brother — and finds that the machine reveals as much about memory itself as it does about the crime. Written by Francisco Arcila & directed by Manuel Ortiz.
NOVIOS (Spring 2027) Written by Arturo Luíz Soria and directed by Danilo Gambini. A co-production with VagaMundo Productions bringing Latin American theater to New York audiences.
HOW TO SUPPORT THE WORK
We're raising $75,000 to produce our full 2026 season — Safe House, Memory Machine, and Novios. You can back the whole slate, or put your support behind the specific show that speaks to you most. Every gift is fully tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Producer Hub.
There's no wrong amount. But here's how we think about participation:
FRIEND OF THE WORKup to $2,000
You believe in what we're making. Your gift goes directly into production — design, rehearsal, the things that make the difference between a show that almost happened and one that actually did.
— Acknowledged in our programs
— Updates on the work through our newsletter
— Opening Night invitation
THE MICRO-PATRON COLLECTIVE $2,000 to $10,000
A cultural membership club with access & community. You're not just giving to the work — you're inside it. Members of the Micro-Patron Collective are the first people in the room, the ones who see what's being built before anyone else does.
— split/decision SALONS — quarterly private readings and events, before the work goes public
— Behind-the-scenes access to projects in development
— Set visits during production
EXECUTIVE CIRCLE $10,000 and above
A curated cultural circle with creative production power. Everything in the Micro-Patron Collective, plus a seat at the table where decisions get made.
— Artist dinners with the directors, writers, and performers behind each production
— Voice in our programming — Circle members have input on which projects we develop and where we direct our focus. This is real influence, not a survey.
— Executive Producer credit on the production of your choice
This level is by conversation. If you're interested, reach out and we'll talk.
FOR FOUNDATIONS & INSTITUTIONAL FUNDERS
We welcome project-specific grants, season support, and multi-year partnerships. split/decision is fiscally sponsored by Producer Hub, a 501(c)(3) organization — all institutional gifts are tax-deductible. To discuss a partnership, contact us directly.
WHY NOW
Independent theater in New York is underfunded by design. The work that takes real risks — that puts urgent stories on stage before they're safe to tell — doesn't survive on ticket sales. It survives because specific people decide it should exist.
split/decision has been building toward this season for years. We have the projects, the artists, the venues, and the drive. What we need are the people who want to be part of making it real.
split/decision is fiscally sponsored by Producer Hub, a nonprofit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of split/decision must be made payable to Producer Hub only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
